
Cinematographic Portrayal of Feudal Lords in Classical Egyptian Cinema
An analytical study of the Egyptian film The Land by director Youssef Chahine, focusing on the representation of feudal lords in classical Egyptian cinema.
This study aims to try to identify the image of feudalism in classical Arab cinema in terms of form and content, as this study belongs to descriptive studies that depend on the descriptive analytical approach, with the use of the content analysis tool to reach that goal, and defines the research community in classical Egyptian cinema. Selecting a sample represented in the film “The Land” by director “Youssef Shaheen” as a model, for the extent of the spread of this film and its evaluation among the strongest films in the history of Egyptian cinema. This study came out with several results, the most important of which are: The appearance of the feudal man’s image in a negative way.
